Carrot recipe

 Carrots can be used to make a variety of delicious and nutritious dishes. Five carrot based recipes are discussed below:


 1. Carrot halwa


 Ingredients:

- Carrot: 500 grams (chopped)

- Milk: 1 liter

- Ghee: 4 tbsp

- Sugar: 1/2 cup (as per taste)

- Cardamom powder: 1 tsp

- Cashew nuts: 10-15 (chopped)

- Raisins: 10-15


 Method of preparation:

1. First, heat ghee in a pan and fry lightly with chopped carrots.

2. Then let the carrots boil on medium heat with milk and when it thickens, mix it with sugar.

3. When the sugar gets mixed, add cardamom powder and almond-raisins and cook for another 5-7 minutes.

4. When the halwa thickens, take it off and serve chilled.

 2. Carrot soup


 Ingredients:

- Carrot: 250 grams (chopped)

- Onion: 1 (chopped)

- Garlic: 2 cloves (finely chopped)

- Oil: 2 tbsp

- Chilli powder: 1/2 tsp

- Salt: As per taste

- Water: 2 cups

- Butter: 1 tablespoon


# Preparation method:

1. Heat oil in a pan and fry onion and garlic lightly.

2. Then fry with carrots for 5 minutes.

3. Cover with water, salt and pepper powder and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.

4. Blend the mixture after cooking.

5. Cook for another 2 minutes with butter and serve hot.

 3. Chop carrots


 Ingredients:

- Carrot: 2 cups (shredded)

- Potatoes: 2 (boiled and mashed)

- Onion: 1 (chopped)

- Coriander: 2 tbsp (chopped)

- Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp

- Chilli powder: 1/2 tsp

- Gram flour: 2 tbsp

- Salt: As per taste

- Oil: For frying


 Method of preparation:

1. Mix all the ingredients together and make small chops.

2. Fry in hot oil until golden.

3. Serve hot.

 4. Carrot cake


 Ingredients:

- Carrot: 1 cup (chopped)

- Flour: 1 cup

- Sugar: 1 cup

- Eggs: 2

- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon

- Oil: 1/2 cup

- Vanilla essence: 1 teaspoon

- Raisins: 2 tbsp

- Almonds: 2 tbsp (chopped)


 Method of preparation:

1. Beat eggs and sugar well in a bowl.

2. Then mix in the oil, vanilla essence, and grated carrot.

3. Sift the flour and baking powder and slowly add to the mixture.

4. Finally mix raisins and almonds and pour into a greased cake pan.

5. Bake in preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 minutes.

 5. Carrot Pickle


 Ingredients:

- Carrot: 500 gms (cut lengthwise)

- Mustard oil: 1/2 cup

- Mustard paste: 2 tbsp

- Turmeric powder: 1 tsp

- Salt: As per taste

- White vinegar: 2 tbsp

- Dry Chillies: 5-6

- Fenugreek and fennel powder: 1 tsp


 Method of preparation:

1. Heat oil in a pan and fry mustard paste, turmeric powder, salt and dry chillies.

2. Then mix all ingredients with carrot and cook for 10-15 minutes.

3. Finally add vinegar and fenugreek powder and cook for another 5 minutes.

4. Store in a bottle when cool.
